Girl Guiding Central Glamorgan

Girlguiding Central Glamorgan has over 2667 members who meet across the County, taking part in many different activities ranging from canoeing, archery, games, swimming, sleepovers, pioneering and partying!

Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is a County in South Wales and covers the areas of Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend and part of the Vale of Glamorgan - a diverse mixture of towns and rural areas, mountains and the sea. We are proud of the wide range of opportunities we offer the girls and young women who are part of our County. Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is divided into 8 Divisions which are then sub divided into Districts and Units.

Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is a member of Girlguiding Cymru and Girlguiding UK. Girlguiding UK is the largest youth organisation for girls in the UK, over 600,000 members including some 100,000 trained volunteer Adult Leaders. Leaders up to the age of 65 years old and girl members between 5 and 25 years old. Girlguiding UK is a founder member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts which has over 10 million members in 145 countries.
Girlguiding UK encourages girls to reach their potential and take an active and responsible role in society, through stimulating and interesting programmes of activities led by trained adult volunteers. GirlGuiding UK is open to every girl and young woman regardless of culture, race, faith or personal circumstances.


		New Year greetings to you all! 2012 is going to be another fantastic year for Central Glamorgan with plenty of activities on the calendar for everyone to take part in: our RSPB event in May, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, another brilliant training weekend at Broneirion, the Olympic Games and of course the Rainbows 25th Birthday! All this as well as all our usual exciting meetings, holidays and camps. None of these events could take place without our wonderful volunteer leaders and helpers who willingly give so much time to Girlguiding enabling the girls to make new friends, learn new skills and have fun all at the same time. . . . . and the grown-ups too! Let's get busy Growing Guiding and hope you all enjoy 2012!
