Welcome to the Central Glamorgan Website Gorwelion page!

Gorwelion is our home by the sea! Situated overlooking the sea near Porthcawl, it is a house used by Girl Guiding and the Scout Association as well as outside organisations. The house is situated within extensive grounds that include 2 camp sites overlooking the sea front. The house has sleeping and other facilities for 3 Guiders and 24 Guides. There is a self contained flat which sleeps four people. Gorwelion is in easy travelling distance of Swansea, Bridgend and Cardiff. Tourist attractions include; Cardiff Bay, Cardiff City Centre, Castle and Museum, Welsh Folk Museum at St Fagans, Margam Park, Kenfig Pool Nature Reserve and many more. Gorwelion is a great place for fun, adventure and opportunities. Great for today and Girl Guiding in the future.

Gorwelion is available for all Units to hire for the week or the weekend - please contact Anne Trimble on 01656 784229 if you would like information regarding booking the house or campsite.

Upstairs is now completed and was used by a school group last week. However, fundraising is needed for the continuing project - boundary fencing, improving the campsites and to contribute towards the repair of the access lane. We also have loans of £21,500 which need to be repaid.
